Magadheera satellite rights for Rs/- 7 Cr

Off late all mega heroes movies satellite rights have been bagged by MAA TV as Chiranjeevi and Allu Aravind are stake holders of MAA TV. Gemini TV which belongs to south india's biggest TV Network company SUN Network could not able to buy the movies of Mega heroes due to the exuberant prices paid by MAA TV in the competition.

Gemini TV has offered a fancy never heard of price to Allu Aravind forMagadheera's satellite rights in order to make sure MAA TV does not get it. In a fierce competition between the MAA and GEMINI TV for the satellite rights of Magadheera the quote has gone up to 7 Crore rupees for the rights. Anuska and Syamprasad Reddy's Arundathi satellite rights were sold for 6 crores and Magadheera breaking the high price with one crore margin. Now the big question is whether our TV Channels does have the market to get the huge investments?

Pawan Kalyan's Komaram Puli Satellite rights were sold for 5 Crore rupees and this is the highest figure for any movie which was not released. Mahesh Babu's industry hit movie Pokiri Satellite rights were sold for 1.08 Cr and Sainikudufor 1.3 Cr(before release). Megastar Chiranjeevi's Stalin was for 1.5 Cr rupees and NTR's Yamadonga for 1.75 Cr rupees.

Magadheera - 4.18Cr Share for 5 weeks in Guntur Area

Magadheera already broke the collection records of all previous industry hit movies. InGuntur territory Megastar Chiranjeevi's Gharana Mogudu (1993) is the first movie to collect more than 1 Crore(1.08Cr Rs) share and Chiranjeevi's Indra(2002) is the first movie to collect more than 2 crores(2.42 Cr Rs) share. Mahesh Babu Pokiri(2006) is the first movie to collect more than 3 crore share(3.12 Cr Rs).

Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan's Magadheera broke Pokiri's previous highest collection record of 3.12 Cr rupees in just 18 days and crossed 4 Crore rupees mark by 32nd day. By end of 5th week .i.e 35 days Magadheera collected a whopping 4.18 Cr rupees share and set an unbeatable record. Initially trade pundits expected the overall share of Magadheera would be around 3.5 to 4 crores. But to the surprise of the Trade, Magadheera collections are steady even after 5 weeks and Magadheera witnessing repeated crowds.

As per the reports pouring in, Magadheera may collect any where between 4.75 to 5 Cr rupees share in Guntur Territory. In Guntur town, Magadheera is running in 3 theatres with packed crowd. Magadheera is going to be the first movie to be screened in 3 theatres for 50 days in Guntur town (Krishna Mahal, Bollywood and Balabhaskara theatres). Bunny Vasu and his friends released the movie in Guntur area and enjoying the profits.

Magadheera collected Rs/- 18.5 Cr share by 5th week

Megapower Star Ram Charan Tej, latest block buster Magadheera continuing it's record streak even after 4 weeks. Magadheera collected a whopping 16.47 Cr rupees for 4 weeks in Nizam area.. In 5th week also Magadheera collected more than Rs/- 2 crore share in Hyderabad circuit making its grand Nizam distributor share to 18.5 crore for 5 weeks.

For the week number 5 alone Magadheera screend in 37 theatres in twin cities and the movie still registering 80% collections in all the theatres. Magadheera collected 18.5 rupees crore by 5 weeks and is expected to collect a whopping 25+ crore share in long run. This is the official figure confirmed by the production and distribution house.

Magadheera tops the USA telugu movie business market

Tollywood is heading the Bollywood way by releasing their movies worldwide. With the 75-million strong Telugu community spread across several countries, filmmakers are taking the “international markets” very seriously. The overseas rights of big budget flicks are sold for anything between Rs 1 crore and Rs 1.75 crore while for small budget flicks, the rights cost around Rs 10 lakhs.

Magadheera is being released in over 15 countries simultaneously and will play on 1,500 screens worldwide, confirm sources with Geeta Arts, the film’s production house. Naga Chaitanya’s Josh, Ravi Teja’s Anjaneyulu and Junior NTR’s Adurs will also have simultaneous international releases. Sudhakar Kothamallella, managing partner of Great India films, which buys the overseas rights of over six Tollywood movies every year, says, “We have a tie-up with Adlabs in the US. They have seven screens where we screen these films. In the recent past, Kick, Arundhati, Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Akashamantha did very well at the international Box Office.”

Interestingly, to classify the popularity of actors, distributors use a grading system. Mahesh Babu and Pavan Kalyan movies are the most sought after by T’wood and they are placed in the ‘A++’ category along with directors like Shekar Kammula and Trivikram Srinivas. Nagarjuna, NTR Junior, Dil Raju and Charan belong to the ‘A’ category, while stars like Allu Arjun and Prabhas are placed in A- category.

Directors admit that it is primarily also a profit-driven move. Director P.C. Aditya, reveals, “The collections we get in 10 days from the US market is equal to the 100-day collection here since we are earning in dollars.”

Shyam Prasad Reddy, the producer of Arundhati, agrees. “Every movie’s business opportunity needs to be exploited. Though Telugu movies are not as big abroad as Hindi films, a decent revenue is being generated,” he says. Film critics, who are all for this move, feel this trend is ringing in a great boom. Parcha Sarath Kumar, member of the Censor Board and a senior film critic, says, “Directors are also using this hype abroad to publicise the film here.”

Aarya 2 Releasing this Month end

Sequel for Allu Arjun - Sukumar’s Aarya is readying up for grand release this month end. The film, which has been under progress for over a year, is in the last leg of postproduction work. Shooting has been completed. After dillydallying over the title for long time, finally a title has been selected. The film’s title is - Aarya 2. Produced by Aditya Babu, the film is sequel to the blockbuster – Aarya that was released in 2004.

Allu Arjun and Kajal are playing as the main lead while Navdeep and Shraddha Das play the second lead. The film’s music would be hitting in another 7 days and the movie is expected to hit the screens by Dussera.

With the success of his first movie itself and also taking the lead in South India with Magadheera, Charan became the only contender for Rajanikanth in India.

Business wise Rajanikanth is the super star of South India currently. Off course Chiranjeevi was on top of whole India in 90s. But things changed. Due to overseas market growth for Tamil movies and Tollywood growth equations changed. Given that, only Ram Charan has the business potential and the talent (except glamour which Rajani doesn't have either) to take on gigantic Rajani.

Chiranjeevi expresses his deep condolences on YSR's sudden demise

Magadheera has already collected more than 50 crores in 1 month and is expected to go strong at boxoffice for more days.
About 25 minute footage was removed from the movie before releasing and some of it was shown in Chiranjeevi's interview in MaaTV.

Geetha arts bag PULI nizam area rights

Geeta Arts, the production and distribution house that has just delivered string of super hits with Ghajini and Magadheera, has bagged the exhibition rights of Pawan Kalyan’s Puli. It has snapped the rights for Nizam area paying hefty amount. Generally Geeta Arts doesn’t distribute films other than its own productions. It has bagged the film as it is directed by S J Surya who gave career turning hit, Khushi, to Pawan Kalyan.

Puli is currently under progress and is expected to hit the screens in December. The film's release depends on A.R.Rehman who is scoring the music. Rehman is known for taking all the time for re-recording. So the final release date will be decided only in the November.
